Electronic Voodoo: New Alternative Dance Release Features Rock, Rap Legends

"Voodoo Science", the new album from underground electronica veterans 3kStatic, features collaborators from ranks of Public Enemy, Pop Will Eat Itself, Petra, The Orchestra (former members of Electric Light Orchestra, Part II) and more.

Chicago, IL (Billboard Publicity Wire) February 4, 2008 -- Over the course of a nine-year career in the electronic music underground, dPulse/INgrooves/Cargo/Sony BMG Germany artists 3kStatic have soared to the top of the iTunes European dance charts and collaborated with an eclectic assortment of rock, electronic, funk and hip hop artists.

Now, for their new sprawling digital double album "Voodoo Science", they've joined artistic forces with former Public Enemy "Bomb Squad" production team member Kerwin Young and a host of legendary collaborators from the rock and hip hop circuits.

Appearing on the nomination ballot "Best/Dance Electronic Album" for the 50th GRAMMY Awards for their 2006 release "Where's Our Piece of the Groovy World?" (which also charted Top 20 or better on iTunes Europe for 10 consecutive weeks), 3kStatic follows up with Voodoo Science, incorporating elements of progressive house, trip hop, rock, breaks and industrial dance with a sometimes-blistering social commentary.

Featured collaborators on the album include Parthenon Huxley (THE ORCHESTRA (former members of ELO and ELO, Part II); Professor Griff (PUBLIC ENEMY); VILE EVILS (Graham Crabb and Adam Mole of POP WILL EAT ITSELF); Rom Di Prisco (SKINNY PUPPY, Richard 'Humpty' Vission); former CABARET VOLTAIRE live drummer Nort, and legendary vocalist Greg X. Volz of seminal Christian arena rockers PETRA.

Noted house producers Datguy, Kris B. and DJ Madison and up-and-comers Dean James, Rigger and DJ Anemone round out the cast of collaborators appearing on "Voodoo Science."

With such an unusual assortment of musical collaborators, it's assured that the resulting album is equally eclectic -- and on the mark.

With notable singles such as "Ma-Ma-Ma Belle" and "Showdown" -- completely new re-workings of the ELO classics -- Voodoo Science breaks new ground for 3kStatic and electronic music, and the result has been Top 10 chart positions on popular digital retailers eMusic, PlayItTonight.com -- and a Top 25 listing on the "Top Artists Chart" at Rhapsody.com

The "Voodoo Science" digital release is available in both a 13-track "Clean Lyrics" version and also as a full 22-track digital double album. The release is available now at all major digital music retailers.

Cargo Records Germany will release the album on compact disc in March 2008. The band will embark on a selection of shows, beginning with an appearance in conjunction with Winter Music Conference in Miami Beach, Florida in late March.

The music of 3kStatic appears in the soundtrack of the dance culture documentary "Liquid Vinyl", which makes its theatrical premiere in Chicago, IL in showings throughout February at Facets Cinémathèque, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave. in Chicago. Call 773-281-4114 for showtimes.
